Gametogen®  is a food supplement containing Myo-inositol, Alpha-Lipoic Acid, Coenzyme Q10, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B2, with Selenium and Zinc, which is useful in case of nutritional deficiencies of these substances.

Myo-inositol is a carbocyclic polyol that can be found in different types of food, in particular in cereals, nuts and fruit, especially melons and oranges. Inositoles, which myo-inositol is a part of, play a biological role as second cellular messengers, i.e. molecules which allow for the cellular response to stimuli from the cell membrane through the activation of other substances that regulate cell activity, such as insulin.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (Thioctic Acid) is an important enzyme cofactor in the Krebs cycle and is involved in all dehydrogenases in the human body. Alpha-Lipoic acid is active both in the aqueous (cytoplasm) and lipid phase (membrane) of cells.

Coenzyme Q10 (Vitamin Q or Ubiquinone) plays a fundamental role as electron carrier in oxidative phosphorylation that takes place in the mitochondrion, the organelle that is directly involved in metabolic-energy and anti-oxidizing agent processes. In particular, mitochondria are present in large numbers in sperm cells, where they provide the necessary energy for sperm motility and vitality.

B vitamins, specifically Vitamin B2 that contributes to healthy skin, cell protection against oxidative stress and normal energy metabolism; Vitamin B6, which contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine, to normal protein and glycogen metabolism, to normal energy metabolism and to hormone balance; Vitamin B12, which also contributes to normal energy metabolism and to the normal metabolism of homocysteine, in addition to the cell division process.

The Gametogen® formula is completed by Selenium and Zinc. Selenium protects cells from oxidative stress and contributes to normal spermatogenesis. Zinc, which is an essential trace element, contributes to normal testosterone levels in the blood, to normal fertility and  reproduction
